Dear Friend of CDR,

Thank you for supporting the 32nd Annual CDR Bid ‘n Buy Auction
Child Development Resources proudly announces that the March 14, 2010 Bid ‘n Buy auction reached its goal of raising over $100,000 in net proceeds to support programs for babies and toddlers with disabilities or developmental delays or those at-risk for delay.

“A number of factors contributed to this success,” says Paul Scott, Executive Director of CDR. “It was a combination of new energy, continued commitment by longtime volunteers, and a matching gift by an anonymous donor.”

The “matching gift” refers to the offer of a donor to match up to $15,000 in gifts received during the “Sponsor the Children” portion of the Live Auction. Over $31,000 in new gifts were received in addition to the $15,000.

“CDR supporters contributed exciting auction items like terrific gift baskets, a kayak, and a tailgater trailer, and so much more. Longtime private and corporate donors like Merchants Square and Busch Gardens came back with unique items that prove themselves valuable year after year,” says Scott.

“It is impossible to thank everyone who made the auction special,” says Scott. “We have an auction committee of people who know their stuff and get the auction set up and decorated every year.”

“While our volunteers, staff and Board of Directors will remember a record breaking auction,” said Scott, “I think the memory of this auction will linger with the young children of our community as the year Big Bird came to the auction. We had a big bird and big win for the families we serve.”
